Winter Window Decorations

Winter is a wonderful time of the year for window decorations. In cold climates the snow gracefully frames the window, providing the perfect contrast to greens and other seasonal décor. In warmer climates, window decorations can provide a welcoming atmosphere and help set the holiday mood. Here are a few of our favorite window display ideas:

  • If you don’t have snow where you live, make some! Paper snowflakes are a fun craft to do with kids. Once you’ve created your faux-flakes, hang them from your window frame with string or fishing wire to create a virtual winter wonderland.
  • Wreathes aren’t just for doors! Whether a traditional evergreen wreathe or a more colorful cranberry version, wreathes are an easy way to dress up windows indoors or out.
  • Tree boughs can add a nice visual break to a window expanse and provide an elegant place to hang additional decorations. From quirky ornaments to flying cardinals, the options are endless!
  • Don’t forget about outside your windows! Window boxes are a great way to show off your personality while dressing up the outside of your home. Fill your window box with hardy vintage toys for a whimsical feel, trail greenery around the edges for classic winter appeal, or include ornaments for pops of color.
