• High-Performance™ Low-E4® SmartSun™ Glass
  Our new High-Performance™ Low-E4® SmartSun™ glass is the most energy-efficient glass we have ever offered. It has our highest efficiency rating in cool weather and is exceptional in hot climates where solar heat gain is a problem. SmartSun™ glass blocks the sun's heat, while letting in almost as much natural daylight as clear glass, reducing your need for artificial lighting. What's more, SmartSun™ glass also blocks an amazing 95% of harmful UV rays.

With our TruScene® insect screens, the view from your window stays as clear as all outdoors. With over 50% more clarity than our standard insect screens, it’s virtually invisible and totally innovative. TruScene insect screens are made with a micro-fine stainless steel mesh that’s one-third the diameter of our standard screen wire to let more fresh air and sunlight in, while keeping some of even the smallest insects out. TruScene insect screens from Renewal by Andersen—they’re like nothing you’ve ever seen.

Available on all operable window styles, Estate hardware is forged from solid brass, not stamped, to withstand the test of time*. High-Performance™ Low-E4® Glass

High-Performance™ Low-E4® glass, the next generation of energy-efficient, low-maintenance glass.

Thermal Protection
Andersen Low-E4 glass employs a hermetically-sealed system for optimum insulation from heat, cold and sound. A patented low- conductivity spacer separates the two panes of glass. The space between the two panes is filled with an argon gas blend to minimize thermal transfer. Compared to ordinary dual-pane glass, High- Performance Low-E4 glass is 56% more energy-efficient in summer and 45% more efficient in winter**. Depending on where you live, that can cut your energy bills up to 25%***.

Helps Keep UV Rays Outside
High-Performance Low-E4 glass works like a sunblock to filter ultraviolet (UV) rays that can fade fabric and damage furniture. Ordinary dual-pane glass lets 63% of UV light pass through. High- Performance Low-E4 glass is layered with 11 microscopic coatings that cut UV transmission down to 17% with virtually no effect on the clarity or color of the light that enters your home.

Fewer Water Spots and Easier Cleaning
New Low-E4 glass features an innovative titanium dioxide (TiO²) exterior coating, which makes cleaning easier. When this coating is activated by sunlight, dirt loosens from the glass and can be washed away by rain. The special TiO² coating also makes the glass dry faster with up to 99% fewer water spots*.

Reduces Sound Penetration
In addition, High-Performance Low-E4 glass can also reduce sound penetration when compared to single-pane glass.

Low-E4 glass is exclusive to select Andersen® windows and doors, and is included as a standard feature on all Renewal by Andersen® window products.
